I was out at sunrise walking the Old Town area taking pictures for a project I am working on and my hunger finally got to me by about 7:30 and the need to find a restroom as well. I used my iPhone TripAdvisor app to find suggestions since most of the places I walked by while wandering around were open... More

We asked for a place to have lunch one of the locals on the street and they suggested Manolin. We absolutely loved the place. Try their mofongo with chicken - it is delicious. Prices are very reasonable for tourist area and the service is fast and friendly. Highly recommend.

I had the garlic shrimp with rice. I put some of the rice into the sauce from the shrimp and it was so god. The plaintains were excellent also and the flan for dessert was delicious. Reasonably pricd and the place was packed with lcals, a good sign for me!

Found this place while wandering the city and ate at the counter. Authentic ambience and the food was outstanding. Best mofongo I have had in Puerto Rico, bar none. Lots of locals sitting at the counter, who gave us recommendations for things to do and see. On top of that, the service was pretty good for the middle of a... More

It was a warm afternoon and I had walked from one end of Old San Juan to the other. To be honest, I was most in need of a restroom when I went into Manolin's. After taking care of business first, I sat down at the counter (most of the seats are at the counter) and ordered an ice-cold Diet... More

I was running some errands on a Saturday morning in Old San Juan. I just love to be in the old city early in the morning..it's when locals shop... just before the mega cruise ships drop thousands of tourist to visit our 500 year old city. I do welcome each and everyone of them..their visit is good for the economy.... More

Well yes it is ... it's very good ... Although lunch is great , but the morning coffee at Manolin along with the Breakfast special... priceless... there is a reason for them to be there that long.. Enjoy ... I did... Gil Garcia

We were wondering around old San Juan looking for authentic good price food and happened upon Cafe Manolin. The menu offers a variety of beef, chicken, and seafood dishes. The food was excellent. You can always tell it's good when the locals eat here. The side of beans were fantastic. Excellent place for lunch.

We asked someone at one of the shops for a lunch recommendation. She said that Cafe Manolin is where the locals go. The diner-style restaurant was crowded, but there were stools available at the counter. My husband raved about the lunch special which was pork with rice and plaintains. I had the skirt steak and onions with rice and beans.... More
