Went here for lunch and was a perfect mixture of local cuisine and comfort food. The owner was so sweet and will make you feel at home.
Ras Rody's is a very small roadside hut in the cliffs of Negril. If you love good and healthy vegetables, this is your place...no meat! It also has great soups. Family business-brother and sister-and very friendly. We always enjoy eating there and being a part of the local scene. Eat there if you are at the cliffs of Negril.
Ras Rody is now living in the US, so Shadrach, his son, and more of his family is taking care of business as usual...all vegetarian, last week there was pumpkin stew, boc choy, mixed veggies curry style, rice/peas and more---we got enough for 2 lunches for about $12 US...Very tasty!
Delicious, local food. Totally vegetarian (no fish). We had the soup and a sample of 5 different foods: rice and beans, bok choy, some textured vegetable protein, and other vegetables whose names I forgot. A lovely, lovely spot. The owner's daughter and her adorable daughter were there. Locals stopped by for the soup. A lovely, inexpensive spot in Negril.
Found this roadside vegetarian eatery while visiting in Negril. The food was very tasty and au natural. Ras Rody's son was serving us and he told us about every dish he had made that day, unfortunately we arrived to late for the porridge it was all sold out so arrive early because by mid-day everything is just about gone. I... More
We were lured into Ras Rody's by the calmest anti-sales pitch we've ever received, "Would you like to try some of my cooking." Thus began our journey into the Rastafarian culture. For the price of the most reasonable food in Negril, Chadra(our old-soul, young man Rasta), explained the recipes, ingredients and traditions as we sat at this "seats on the... More
Ras Rody's was great! We had been looking for some awesome Jamaican vegetarian food, and it was at Ras Rodys we found it! It's a little roadside cafe in a makeshift shelter, where the food is cooked in front of you from entirely vegetarian ingredients. We had soup to start, then a container full of rice, veggie curry, and veggie... More
Been here twice and it never disappointing! Rody took care of us the first time out and the following his sin Shadrock took care of us. Best place for some sip and festival! i have made it a goal of mine to always come back to this spot whenever in Negril! Big ups and one love to all of the... More
What a wonderful place for local vegetarian food. Shadrock, our cook and server the three times we ate there was so enjoyable to talk to. We learned about the food he cooked and how the different foods help our bodies. It was just so comfortable to sit and eat at the little roadside restaurant while visiting with the locals who... More
I have wanted to try this place for over a year and finally did. It was good. The lady made a box sampler of everything she had that day along with a cup of soup for $8. It was all very good. Not sure if I would go back or not
