Like you we were led here by the equally inept Lonely Planet Guide for the DR. Why don't I trust my nose? As we entered I noticed a rather large restaurant at the prime hour of 8pm with only one other table of people - nice looking place. Despite that, and already having recognised the hugely overpriced menu ($20 for... More

I have been in many Italian restaurants in Santo Domingo, this one is ok compared to some other restaurants. I must say that the signature dish was amazing (stuffed ravioli with fish in a lemon sauce). I can eat that everyday. We ordered octopus and a cheese/ham table for entries. For main course we ordered pasta, risotto and my raviolis... More

My husband and I travel to DR at least once a year. We have been to many restaraunts in Santo Domingo but Pasatiempo is the best Italian food! We loved it so much we went twice during our 4 day stay. The food is authentic Italian. It is fresh and well made. The sweets are excellent we had terimassu and... More

We love the city and its many restaurants, but none are quite like this. Quaint with amazing food. Everything is good and I am usually fussy. Highly recommend risotto with lamb shank. Enrico is great and service was fantastic. Best Italian food we have had in years - sorry NYC!

If not, give it a miss. The owner tries to bring you in by describing it as the best Italian restaurant in Santo Domingo - but it is not. Cafe Bellini and Angelo's are both far superior. I went there the night before a holiday, true, but that does not excuse the 70-minute delay in bringing any food to our... More

Looks better inside than it does from outside, despite the weird flashing sign on the sidewalk. I went here twice - once with a large group and once alone. The large group appeared to overwhelm the kitchen and it took forever to get the food. But, once the food arrived everyone liked what they ordered. I recommend the farfalle with... More

As many others I was impressed by the praise this place has gotten. The very bad housewine spoiled the first impression. And the decor is so la la. Well, it would be ok, if some commentators would not catapult this place to a world leader... But then: This ristorante serves the best melanzane al parmiggiano. This IS world class! and... More

I recently went to Pasatiempo with some friends after reading the reviews. I live in the Colonial City of Santo Doming, since June ’11. After reading so many great reviews I decided to try it again. Unfortunately I was mis-directed by the reviews in Trip Advisor. This place is decorated awfully with no sense of decoration or style. Things look... More

As we were walking about the Zona Colonial, we stumbled upon this restaurant around lunch time and decided to give it a go. The menu was varied and impressive. The atmosphere was very like our own Little Italy in Baltimore, Maryland, USA. Cute little bar area with a variety of drinks, and well appointed dining area that was not at... More

Wow what a pleseant surprise. I invited my wife for a late valentine day celebration based on TA report and TA was right. We live in Santo Domingo and there are not many restaurants that we have not heard from and few worth to go that we have not been. I told the owner that he needs to advertice it.... More
