The view when sitting out the patio in this restaurant is unique in Santo Domingo. Very few restaurants have such a priviledged location as it sits on the old colonial zone overlooking a big plaza and Alcazar de Colon. Food is very good although I feel a lack of consistency in their quality and/or preparation sometimes. This is the place... More

These people are serving a delightful hamburger. Japanese imported meet with a fresh burger bun from New York combined with all the others great ingredients, made of this one of my the best meals I ever had. Hat off for the chef!

This restaurant is the oldest still operating pub in the new world. The old world atmosphere is genuine and the food is always excellent. If you think service is slow, it is only because like most nice restaurants in the Dominican Republic, they think it is impolite to rush guests. You are expected to sit for a while, have a... More

This is one of the best restaurants in Santo Domingo, and the best in the Zona Colonial. Having lived in the city for two years, I have tried most of them. The owner and manager are sharp and on top f things, and the servers are attentive. Most omportantly, the food is very well done, quality, creative. The price is... More

After reading the many reviews and eating at Rita's Cafe next door, the previous night. I can say that Pat'e Palo is a as such a bet for a great meal, than anywhere in Santo Domingo. When you visit, you will notice there are five other restaurants right next to Pat'e Palo. Also you will notice, that they are almost... More

This is the one of the best restaurants in Santo Domingo. Don't let the pirate outfits put you off, the food here is great! Expensive! Expect to pay what you pay for a good restaurant in the states, but worth the splurge. Of course, the location on the square is tops.

The reason why I am falling out of love is the arrogance of the servers, hostesses and manager and for the first time two weeks ago we went to the italian place next to them. Why, keep holding tables empty for people that never arrive and keep you waiting for a table forever? Why is wine list so limited, out... More
