Our first day in Havana, we ducked into the first restaurant we saw, and luckily it was La Mina. It set the bar very high for the rest of our trip. We started with the shrimp cocktail ($5 CUC) and the ceviche ($3 CUC) and 2 of us shared the full meal ($14) which included mojito, cream corn, beans, rice,... More

Visited as part of an organised day trip with First Choice from Varadero. We ate looking out over the inside terrace. The meal choice was limited, as part of a trip. Salad starter in a very strong vinaigrette, with a choice of pork, chicken (leg) or fish for main, and poached guava for desert. All food was well cooked and... More

In a great spot, just off Plaza Armas with it's book stalls. Thought it would be a typical tourist trap, with musicians being a drawcard. Ordered some seafood dish, and were pleasantly surprised. However long wait. Recommended

La Mina is a well-organized restaurant with plenty of outdoor space and a lovely garden with live peacocks and additional seating. The restaurant is situated on the corner of Arms square in the old, historic Havana. The restaurant serves mostly traditional Cuban dishes; in my mind at reasonable prices as well. As mentioned in the headline, exploring the busy street... More

Went here last October as I had seen it as a top pick in one my guide books. The place is really easy to find and the atmosphere is quite unique. We had dinner in the courtyard area which was nice. Prices here are not so steep but then again I think the food should have been better, We ordered... More

The guidebook recommended this as a good Habana Vieja option. We should have known from the hard-sell waiter every time we passed the entrance that it was going to be like all the others. Not that the food was bad, but I hardly remember what I ordered after the waiter tried to convince us to get the special. Three times.... More
