Most enjoyable dining experience in Cuba. So good I returned for a second night. It was the most memorable meal out in recent history for myself. The octopus appatizer was to die for.
Just back from Cuba and our dinner for eight at Gijones was a high point of a fabulous trip. The service and setting, in a pre-Revolution American businessmen's social club, is delightful, and the food was fabulous. We let the chef select appetizers for us and, while some of the combinations may sound odd, the dishes were as good as...

Very Expensive. We happily ate only starters which were ok, but even this was very expensive and we left hungry. Probably around 200 CUC for 4 with wine if you were to eat starters and mains. Certainly ate better elsewhere in Havana. Service lovely though, could not be faulted.
atmospheric place, great fun, and truly original cooking
When this place is on, it's one of the best in Havana. The setting is the old American club, and it's beautiful. Chef Lucio, who used to run La Paila, is one of the most innovative and original in Havana. The problem, as always, is with consistency. Highly recommended.

On the first floor of a traditional building on the Paseo del Prado, this is a great find. Ignore the other restaurants in the building and make a beeline for this dark wood paneled air-conditioned oasis. Start with a refreshing Mojito Frappe (their invention) - if you like they will take you behind the scenes to show you how it...

The food here is some of the best i have eaten in Cuba. Really innovative. Go with a group and try family style. Or go alone and savour the steak with chocolate and blue cheese ALL BY YOURSELF! A must...
Good food and setting. We went back later in the week for lunch and while sandwiches were not on the menu they created a "Cuban" sandwich for us that was delicious. They were eager to please. Pretty setting in an old building off the square near the Capitol.
I agree with the other reviewer. This is not a cheap place but you got what you paid for. The food is excellent and I dare to say this must be the best one in town. The service was excellent which is rare in Havana. The waiters were all courteous and seemed very motivated in doing their jobs (again, this...
