First remember we are reviewing restaurants in Havana so the star system is way out of whack compared to almost anywhere else on the planet, but this place is just around the corner from my house, I take visitors here in a pinch, when we want to pop out for something to eat. Compared to most state run restaurants, quality... More

we stumbled in to this locals joint just around the corner from the Habana libre... ordered the 'recommended' surf and turf for two which we thought was 15CUC for two... 20 min later a procession of pork beef chicken lobster shrimp potatoes rice cabbage was presented to us on a giant platter... it was seriously enough to feed 4 people...... The place has a big hall, a cozy bar, and a piano man. It close late and offers an comic show. The dishes are really big and the price are really low. The quality of the food is very respectable. It works for couples, for groups or family along the day.

We were staying at the Nacional and ended up having happy hour drinks at the bar most nights. We ended up having dinner twice. I would not call it gourmet cuisine, but it was well prepared, tasty, dirt cheap and the service was very good. I found it to be on a par with some of the paladares at a... More

Staying at the Hotel National I was walking around the area and came across this restaurant. The fact that I ate here four times says a lot. The food is very good, the service also was good and the prices excellent. On my visits I ate shrimp entree, salad, pasta, shrimp cocktail (served with a mayonaise sauce), lobster cocktail, and... In common with others we stumbled upon this place. We had originally planned to eat elsewhere but a power cut put paid to that and we decided to give it a try. We had checked it out earlier in the day and it looked a bit cavernous and we were concerned that it might be a bit empty. Think again... More

I was there for a lunch with my husband and we shared a sea food plate for two including lobster, fish and shrimps plus veggies and salad. It was very delicious and there was a lot of it. We couldn't finish it, just too much food. Place is very original and service was fast and friendly. Their flan was also... More

We were checking out the Vedado area and on our way to Hotel Nacional when we decided to check the menu. Our first surprise was at how inexpensive the menu was. We gave it a shot and were pleasantly surprised. The food was great, service was fast, beer was cold. They have a surf and turf (lobster, shrimp, beef and... More

This place earns its' score on originality. The place just screams history and is a preserved gem from a long lost time in Cuba. The food is the typical State owned restaurant type but maybe a notch better. The waiters are hopelessly lost and have that Soviet Union feel to them. The food takes forever to come and is most... We ate here 3 times during our 2 week stay in La Habana. Food was excellent each time, unbelievably cheap, reliable menu (meaning they tend to have available what is actually on the menu), and excellent service. Our waiter remembered us the 2nd time we visited (which in itself encouraged a 3rd visit). This place tends to get busy on... More
