If you're looking for a splurge -- save it for the Tides. Service was excellent -- but food underwhelmed. If you are looking for something in Paynes Bay -- Cariba is the place.
This restaurant was recommended to us by our booking agent as a place with good seafood and a great view and both turned out to be true. We arrived early (if you are from the US note that most establishments do not open for dinner until at least 630pm) and were graciously seated at the ocean front bar tables. The...

Sublime fresh tasty food, sublime friendly efficient service, sublime table on the terrace, sublime setting right on the beach.... we had a wonderful experience each time we dined there during our holiday and we look forward to returning as soon as we can get back to Barbados!
It was our first visit to Daphne's and we had heard very good things about the place. I had a Sea Bass main it was plain and simple and cooked to perfection.
I would say that the hugh cockroach that fell on to the table next to us after we had finished our meal was a bit of a surprise....

Nearly didn't try daphne's because of the recent poor reviews and only chose it for our last night based on a large group in our hotels visit the previous night. We all agreed that we had a excellent meal and service and rated the evening a better overall meal than at champers which we all also enjoyed. The seafront table had...

Having had a poor experience at this restaurant 3 years ago we decided to return following recommendations by other hotel guests at their sister hotel. We were not disappointed. The menu was varied and interesting,Italian focused. Staff were pleasant and service good. The food was very enjoyable although they had run out of my husband's first choice and then tried...

Daphnes, a little like the connected hotel, The House, needs to modernise. The restaurant remains one of the most beautiful settings and is tastefully decorated, however the staff are complacent and the food bordering on average.
Despite having a table booked for 9pm, we weren't seated and served until 10.30, this is just not acceptable, asthe restaurant wasn't full, it...

This is nothing like Daphne's in SouthKen. I expected a chilled-out Bajan version of the elegant London restaurant, but was disappointed. There seem to be lots of front-of-house milling about and too few waiters, about half of whom seemed to be very new to it all. The food was nice but nice in the same way my local gastro-pub does...

Whilst staying at the Mango Bay, we decided to try Daphnes for dinner one night. Service was initially good, and we were given a water side table. However our table was placed in an area which had a boarded floor, which tended to bounce up and down anytime someone walked on it - an experience to be missed. The food...
