My wife and I ate here three times in all during our holiday. The food was good (but not exceptional). We went back twice after all. Good wine selection. A pleasant experience all said, and would recommend for anyone visiting West Glacier.

The innkeepers at the delightful Moss Mountain B&B (reviewed separately) recommended the Belton Chalet for our dinner, and we had a fine meal there. A meat dish and a fish dish were both very good, service was friendly and attentive, and there's a nice selection of wines by the glass.

The Grill and Tap Room is just downhill from the Belton Chalet complex, with lodging and gift store, across Highway 2 from the BNSF railway main line, on the outskirts to the west entrance to Glacier National Park. Found the menu to be very creative, service ecellent and friendly.

We had the Elk Burgers which were really good,very flavorful and a delicious spinach salad with roasted apples. The best was the huckleberry cobbler - YUM. Wanted to try the Mac and Cheese but we weren't overly hungry, but it looked really good too.

Had dinner here on a recent trip to Glacier. The food selections are very unusual - I had duck tacos and my husband had an unusual steak. The setting is nice - a historic railway Inn. The best restaurant on our trip. Skilled chef, good flavors. My only complaint: I couldn't chew the pork chops, which are served "medium". A more thorough cooking would have worked better for me.

Go early or late, as they don't take reservations. The menu and preparation is great. Varied choices and good local and regional beers and wines. Great service, even on a really busy night.
