It didn't feel so much like Costa Rica with all the Americans sitting around tables, but the pizza was awesome and so was the ice cream. We enjoyed delicious dinner and wonderful dining mates, including spirited John. We visited after a nice long yoga class down the road. It was a relaxed El Castillo dinner.

this is a great place to eat good pizza (and the icecream is wonderful too) in a great "pura vida" atmosphere. we met some very interesting people, because everybody is sitting togother. make plans for a long (enjoyable) evening

Ah yah yah!! So good we went twice in 2 days. Its just like going round to one of your mates for pizza. Only the pizza's are freshly made and of high quality. John has great stories to tell and will sit and drink with you as long as you want him to. Great homemade ice cream in interesting flavours....

John is a awesome guy! Great food but even better host! Over flowing with positive energy! After lunch we hung out that night an the next morning he drove us around an showed us all the local spots ;) if you visited Arenal and your not a stiff you got to check him out!!

If you're in the neighborhood -- Lake Arenal, Costa Rica, don't miss this place. The building and the owner are each one-of-a-kind. Amazingly good pizza, and John will sit down and have a beer with you without too much prompting. He's a great host.

Pizza John's is an experience not to miss! Best pizza in Costa Rica. Great ice cream - you'll never be disappointed with John's unique flavour combinations - chocolate and ginger is fantastic. Can't wait to return to hang with my bud and listen to more Kinks! Clyde and Kathy
