A hotel bistro located in the Adelaide Hills. A lovely outdoor seating area overlooks the township of Stirling. The bistro is very modern and busy. Food and drinks are expensive and service can be slow. We ordered our meals at the same time as friends. Our friends received their meals but ours were delivered to the wrong table. By the...

We have tried both the Mallee Grill and Bistro on numerous occasions. The Mallee Grill is fair, food tasty but expensive. The Bistro is a disaster. Far too noisy and crowded. You can't hold any sort of conversation and staff are running around madly, mainly ignoring the customer. Twice we've had food delivered out of order or the wrong order all...

I couldn't disagree more with the previous review. The good is lovely, with little extras added with no charge or fuss. The atmosphere is sophisticated but not over the top. The bistro next door can be quite noisy. Whether you want a quite drink or a wonderful meal this is a great place.

This review covers the up-market Mallee Grill operation at the Stirling Hotel, not the cheaper Bistro
Both restaurants are serviced from the same kitchen and food presentation in both places is similar. The Mallee Grill is supposed to be full service (but is not) while thd Bistro is largely self-serve.
The Mallee Grill menu is predictably mod-oz, featuring the dishes...
