i should have suspected all the positive articles on the web to be too good to be true. the chef massimiliano alajmo is handsome but the good news stop there. the reality is that it is in a strip mall and no one dares mentioning this fact. the food is decent for a one star but not for a three... As a former culinary tour guide, I've been visiting Le Calandre since 2000. This was my first experience there in wintertime. It is well worth it to visit their shop in. gredienti for a few gifts prior to a meal, then stop off for some chocolates in il Calandrino. When you order dinner, Angelo the wine steward is there to... More

We had lunch at Le Calandrino, dinner at Le Calandre and stayed at their hotel Il Maccaroni. Dinner was amazing. We had the classic tasting menu and I was intrigued and amazed by it. The ravioli filled with porcini juice which exploded in your mouth was perhaps my favourite of all. A couple of buts! Firstly the wine pairing was... More

This was cooking gone off the charts. We stopped here as the first of three three stars during our honeymoon trip of Italy. We were wowed. Please read my reviews of Del Pascatore and Da Vittorio for comparison. Whilst Del Pescatore was better from a service and setting point of view (not that Le Calandre was anything other than excellent... More

I love love love this restaurant! The food is just sublime. Not only is it my favourite Italian restaurant, i think its my favourite restaurant. Massimiliano is the worlds youngest 3 star Michelin chef and super nice chap to boot! My absolute favourite dish though has to be his "Big Max" burger. Its a simple hamburger with cheese, in a... This was a remarkable experience, for the sheer innovation of the place. Very modern , simple and stylish. From the Baccala fish light shades to the bread holes in the tables, the linen curtains and the minimal decorations on the walls. The food began with an amuse bouche of which every bite was divine. My friend"s cappucino , of squid... More

After a 10 day trip to Italy with my wife, I can say that Le Calandre was the absolutely best dining experience of our trip. We visisted three 3-star restaurants during our trip (La Pergola in Rome, Enoteca Pinchiorri in Florence, and Le Calandre). Although the three were very very outstanding, Calandre just went over the top. Service in unintrussive,... More

Had dinner at Le Calandre. The location is quite lousy (suburbs of Padova), but as soon as you enter into the Restaurant the magic happens. I strongly suggest the degustation menu with his accompanying wines. Personnel was exceptionnal as well as food, drinks, and after dinner drinks. It's worth the trip!!!! More
