Even though you can never be promised to see wild animals (as they are wild, after all), our guides did everything they could to help us see Khao Yai's wildlife, and boy were they successful. I could tell they wanted to admire the animals just as much as we did. On top of that, they were just genuinely nice people and went out of their way to arrange things to be as enjoyable and convenient as they could have been. Saw plenty of animals, got some exercise and saw some beautiful sights (3 million bats flying out of a cave was out of this world). Rooms very basic, hot and humid. Useful mosquito guards. You're really paying for what you get here with the rooms - clean, basic and no air con. Food was delicious but HUGE portions that left us feeling very full and felt rude leaving any as the chef is the owner's wife. Word to the wise, don't let the dog out of the gated area.
