It was obvious that a reading chair and possibly small couch (as seen in other photos) were missing, which would have been nice to have in the evenings. Other than that the room as adequate although a bit and run down with stained carpet. But this is not why you stay there. It is the convenience above all else as, even with no traffic, the drive in and out of the park takes 1 hour. The hotel has been designated as an historic landmark and all the public rooms are really fine and lovely remembrances of grander times.We bought the bed and breakfast package which is worth it if you want to eat a hearty breakfast before a full day's hiking.   "Stayed at Curry Village for a few days. Was what I expected, nice clean canvas tent, and comfortable beds. We were never too hot or cold. Slept fine. Food was also what we expected. Beer tasted great after a long hike, oatmeal was a good start to our day. It worked great for our hiking trip. ..."Bathrooms were crowded there were several school groups there for they would be full of 20 or so kids with three bathroom stalls and three showers it probably worked well a long time ago but not for the crowds that Yosemite gets now.   "We recently stayed at Sage Cabin for 5 nights. It was a great, cute cabin about 25 min from the valley. The drive is very hilly and curvy and you have to go very slow in the dark. Also lots of deer about. We loved the hot tub, especially after climbing Half Dome! Our neighbors were very quiet a..."nd we never saw them, so we felt like we had the whole property to ourselves. The kitchen was fully stocked, even with coffee, spices, oils etc. I wish we'd known because we bought a lot that we didn't use. Also we have AT&T and there was NO cell reception. Wi-fi was adequate, though kindof slow. The TV is for DVDs only and there are quite a few fun movies provided from family/kid movies to a great info DVD on Yosemite. Also there were board games. We never used the loft although we did crawl up there to see it. Would be fun/dangerous for kids. There are sparse curtains throughout so if you're wanting to sleep in, no such luck-the light comes streaming in very early! Very comfortab... " More >
