We booked a double queen and judging by the room alone I would have rated it 3 stars because we were placed in a corner unit so we could hear the freeway noise. There were also stains on the furniture and carpet so the cleanliness level was below my expectations. However, their continental breakfast bumped my review to 5 stars. They had a wide variety of fresh fruits, juices and pastries. The hot food items were also very good (scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon, oatmeal, waffles). For the past several years we have been stopping at the 4 mile mark and spending the night at the MOUNTAIN HOME INN, a charming little place with excellent views of its own. The inn has become an upscale destination for hikers, situated on Mt. Tam, and has a very fine restaurant with a fixed prixe menu (3-course @ $38/person.)
