"Just spent 5 wonderful days at this beautiful, lakeside estate. The property was lush and beautiful with lots of fruit trees, a calming lake with many species of water fowl, a beautifully decorated comfortable 3-bedroom home, and even a short par 3 golf hole. I really enjoyed waking up early, wat..."ching the sun rise over the lake with a lone swan gliding across the tranquil water. A wonderful place to unwind, both body and soul, yet conveniently located for sight seeing, water sports, and sun worshipping. The estate is just a short drive to the unspoiled beaches and a world-class botanical garden; Hanalei for shopping/dining and Princeville for the spectacular golf courses. I have traveled to the islands many, many times but Kauai and especially the Kilauea area added a whole new dimension to "Hawaii." My only regret is that I left too soon. Highly recommended for families, couples, friends.

"My wife and I stayed at the Kilauea Lakeside Estate in October 2012. It was not our first stay at this gorgeous and truly unique property, but it had been a number of years. Remarkably, the place was even more beautiful than we remembered! The main house had been exquisitely remodeled/redecorated..." and, though we didn’t think it possible, the immense property was even more impressively landscaped (and ecologically minded) than before. So, in January of 2013, we came back for a visit with the kids! The wonderful owners, Steve and Janine Hunt, were gracious enough to let us spend the day there with our children. And, to say the kids had a great time would be a serious understatement! Their highlights included the hundreds of exotic fruit trees (they had to try fruit from each and every one), t...

"We have visited Kauai a number of times over the years and have stayed in hotels, time shares, bed and breakfasts and on cruise ships. All have been enjoyable, but our stay at Hale 'O Kuawa Apartment from May 11th to 15th, 2013 was - I believe - the most relaxing. What a find!
I could simply s..."ay “dittos” to all the favorable reviews before us but let me see if I can add a few details that we appreciated.
Kitchen: In the kitchen we found coffee and filters -- both decaf and regular. Also, salt pepper, olive oil in a Mister, ketchup, mustard, mayo, sweet relish, a number of spices, barbeque rubs, sugar, zip-lock bags, plastic wrap, aluminum foil, paper towels, a large toaster oven, two burner electric stove, microwave, and wooden matches to light the Citronella candle on the Lanai. There was even a steamer basket that we used every night for fresh broccoli. You get the picture … don’t go shopping until you see what’s there.
Bathroom: Bandaids, body lotion, three-types o...
