  "We arrived mid-week, 2nd week of June, just before local schools were out. Although a little cool for the pool, the weather and the resort were PERFECT! Would recommend to anyone staying in the Bend area. I was worried about reviews that said staff was non-responsive: I had the opposite experience. ..." Coming just before the summer rush may have made the difference but I cannot imaging the staff I experienced being other than the friendly, helpful bunch we had. Breakfast in the lodge was awesome: they remembered our names and the kind of coffee and juice we preferred. Food was very good. All the areas were beautiful and the River lodge room more than I anticipated (we were on a web-wait list and got it as a free upgrade.) Our only complaint was that we would have used the spa but it did not open until 10. We are early risers who had other activities planned so never used the workout room or pool. We utilized the Great Lodge for the main conference- that building is amazing. I only wish I had brought my golf clubs and had arranged to stay for an extra day to play! I s..."tayed in one of the guest lodges, #103, which was an upper-level lodge, king bed with vaulted ceilings, gas fireplace, and a deck facing the golf course and Mt. Bachelor in the background- see pics. The room was clean and comfortable. While the putty and beige color schemes of the paint did remind me of the late 70s, almost a little too 'campy' if you will, the modern touches of an iPod docking station, flat panel TV, and modern shower brought me back to this millennium. The grounds are beautiful. Do plan on a ten minute walk to conference room, or if you have to walk from your room back to the main lodge; the resort is pretty spread out.
