Red Lion Cottage is located in the gorgeous village of Blockley with the friendliest of locals, idyllic scenery & only a sho..."rt drive to many various tourist attractions. The cottage itself is pretty much faultless from the stunning decor, a huge cosy fire place to the stand alone bath tub & mini roof terrace - we loved every minute. On arrival we had been left a chocolate cake, bottle of Bucks Fizz along with eggs, milk & fresh bread which was so incredibly thoughtful. There are plenty of DVDs if you fancy a night in or a box full of leaflets if you're looking for somewhere to go. We also enjoyed a particularly competitive game of Monopoly!   "We stayed as a couple on the 29th to 31st May, and although the weather was awful we had an excellent time. The hotel's location is great to explore the Cotswolds by foot and car (didn't use public transport) and the food was delightful. On the first night we ate in the restaurant and in the bar on ..."the second night, both occasions the food and staff were outstanding. The room itself (12) was really cute with beams and original fireplace, although we were on the road side there was no noise and the bed was amazingly comfortable. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely come back. The only negative is that you can hear footsteps in the hotel but not surprising due to the age of the building. " More >
