  "I collect interesting places to stay and this one comes high on my list. The top floor of an old hotel has been beautifully converted into accommodation. I love these big old wide verandahs and so chose a room that had its own private section (semi-private, anyway). Despite its location on the main ..."street of town, it was very quiet. Our room was spacious and light. Our bathroom was huge and featured a double shower. It is not a self-catering hotel, and the equipment provided is minimal. There is good food close by – we ate a very good dinner in the friendly pub almost next door. They understand gluten-free thank goodness, as after a very long day driving I was famished. The hotel will provide a basic breakfast, but we carry our own supplies which, supplemented by fresh rolls from the nearby mall for my gluten-eater, meant we breakfasted well on our own verandah.   "We wanted a quiet weekend away and chose this as an easy 1 hour drive from where we live. I was a little concerned at the external appearance but that all vanished when we opened the door to the Executive Spa Suite. This is a very large area 3 bedrooms, meeting room, large well equipped kitchen, ..."large lounge with 50” Plasma, Foxtel and DVD Player. Not forgetting the modern bathroom and two person corner spa. You could live in this place. It was very peaceful, there are various types of heating in the different rooms and oil heaters you can move where you want. As previously mentioned the stairs may be a drawback for some, there is only one bathroom, which is strange as there is 3 bedrooms, but as it was just the two of us it was no problem I feel it was great value for money and will be returning " More >
