  "I stayed here for a convention for five nights and couldn't be happier. The view from our room was fantastic. the lake and the gounds of the resort are gorgeous. The staff was wonderful. As this was a Harry Potter convention, they had to deal with crazy, costumed people running around at all hours. ..."They dealt amazingly well with those of us whose suitcases and make-up kits spread themselves throughout the room. They cleaned around our stuff as best they could and kept us well stocked with towels. The mini fridge combined with the proximity to Shaws was a lifesaver for those of us who tend not to eat at cons because we don't always want to eat out. That said, the hotel had a nice free continental breakfast and a nice hot breakfast for a very decent price. The pool and hot tub were great! I would definitely recommend this place. " More >

The locat..."ion is actually very close to a number of helpful businesses such as a grocery store and banks, so if you forget anything you are fine. We had Keurig coffee makers and small refrigerators in every room, plus a separate sink and outlets outside of the bathroom. All of that made mornings easier! The event space was huge and top notch. If you're having any kind of event, you should definitely have it at the Margate! They made it relaxing and fun. " More >

  "I was at the Margate for a special event and stayed in one of their deluxe rooms in the Lakeside building. First, the room. The room was massive, providing ample space to spread our all our items while still being able to sit to eat or look out the window over the gorgeous lake. I was very conce..."rned when I saw how close we were to the entrance and the elevator but I never once noticed noise and this event was practically 24 hours a day, so it would have been very possible. I loved having two separate sinks for getting ready in the morning, as well as the Keurig (I bought some special tea from the store across the street, as I can't buy Chai Latte k-cups in Canada. If you drink tea, you may want to inquire if you can have some put in your room) and having a fridge in the room was incredibly handy. The only weird thing for me was that the plug ins didn't seem to "hold" their plugs very well, so do watch to make sure that whatever electronics you are using are in fact plugged in. S... " More >
