This is the motel experience I wish was in every small town in Montana. Rumor has it they won't be open next winter, and we are already worried about where to stay in Cooke on our ski trips!   "We stayed here for 3 nights while visiting Yellowstone. This is an extremely convenient location outside the park. We stayed in the Alpine Two building. The room is immaculately clean, beautiful, and well decorated. It feels like a bed and breakfast, but without the breakfast. There is a really sp..."ectacular view out the back. The furniture is nice and cozy. The entire town of Cooke City has no cell phone reception at all. The Alpine Two has wifi, which was useful for internet and Skype, but with no explanation, it was turned off 11 PM - 7 AM, making any and all internet access impossible. The town of Cooke City is very small. It has one street that is one block long. There is a general store that sells a small selection of food and odds and ends, a gas station with a convenience store, a souvenir shop with a museum, and several motels - that's all. It is a two hour drive from the nearest civilization. So be prepared. " More >
