  "I read several reviews on Tripadvisor, prior to our weekend in Delaware. I was worried that we would book a room in a terrible hotel, after reading some of the reviews of the area. This hotel is very clean (inside and out) and well decorated. The staff is very friendly and helpful, saying hello, goo..."d morning, etc when people walk by. Our room had micro, fridge, iron/board and hair dryer. The rooms were very clean and the bed was comfortable! They had a shuttle as well. Breakfast included the typical cereral, muffins, juice, etc, but also had a waffle maker, hard boiled eggs and sausage. The breakfast area was large with several tables. The staff kept all the food items filled quickly, despite the 15-plus people who were eating at the time. Overall, I was very impressed! " More >

Valet parking is on offer, but the cars are located a few blocks away so you’ll need to give about 20mins notice if you want to pick it up. Walking into the lobby for the first time you are struck by the old world grandeur, especially the ornate ceiling, and first impressions are good. Check-in was very efficient with the key card being handed over within a couple of minutes and directions to the elevators given. These require the key card to be inserted if you want to access the guest floors from the lobby. If you have lot of luggage you’re probably better off waiting for one of the two larger elevators to arrive rather than the smaller one which gets very cosey with only 4 people in it.   "We booked here for the Delaware Marathon in May. It was so nice to check in to such a spacious and relaxing environment after a long day of travel. Front desk clerks were friendly and quick to correct an issue we had with our room. Convenient to several different eateries, shopping, and entertain..."ment all within walking distance (less than half a mile). Only half a mile to the start/finish of the marathon. I am a slow runner so it was nice to know that they allowed a late check out. The pool was a surprise as we are used to an indoor pool being a bit on the chilly side. Not so here. It was a heated pool. Loved that we could walk out our room through the sliding glass door and be in the pool room. Our son loved it so much that my husband and I were able to swap pool duty so he could stay as long as he wanted. The refrigerator was nice since I wanted to keep my water cold to stay hydrated.
