Coleen, the concierge provided good advice and a bottle of wine to our room (greatly appreciated), we ate in the restaurant and the food was excellent and with a nice touch the chef wrote "happy anniversary" around the dessert plates.   "My husband and I were in town for the Zac Brown Band concert at the Red Rocks and decided to make the HGI our homebase for the weekend. The hotel is in a great location, just a few blocks from the 16th Street Mall, where you can find any and every kind of restaurant and bar. The service at the h..."otel was phenomenal. The valet were professional and prompt, always remembering our names and asking if we'd like a bottle of water on our way out. My husband left his phone in the car one time and we called down to get it. They gave it to the front desk to hold. When we went down a few minutes later to retrieve it, the front desk receptionist asked to see his ID before handing the phone over, and I thought that was great. I'm glad to know they double-check these things before just handing something like that over to someone.   "I spent the night here on a points reservation, choosing the hotel due to the value and being reasonably close tot he hotel so I could return the rental can and catch my 8:25am flight. The hotel is good, but navigating the streets to get in and out from the Interstate is a little tricky. The hotel..." staff I interacted with was great. Parking was easy and free. Check-in was courteous, quick and easy. But, it sure was a long walk from the front desk to my 4th floor room on the opposite side of the hotel! I was too tired to even think about going out for supper, so I headed down a little while later to the restaurant. It was closed on this Saturday night, so I stepped around the corner to the bar and had a really good cheeseburger and fries while chatting with the bartender and a couple of other guests and watching the Kentucky Derby.
