The location can't be beat, less than a mile and a half from the Big Oak Flat entrance on the west side of Yosemite, which is perhaps the entrance closest to the Valley itself. The owners were very helpful ..."with advice about flights and drives to the Park, favorite things to do, and where to find gas and food at a decent price - not to mention sharing their fresh eggs, which made great trail snacks after being hard-boiled. The cabin was clean and cozy, very thoughtfully furnished and well-stocked. With the gas stovetop and toaster oven (and a grill out back), we were able to prepare breakfast and bag lunches every day, which saved a LOT of money compared to in-Park meal options. The property is secluded and quiet, and it was so nice to have a private stand-alone cabin instead of a crowded and noisy hotel.   "We stayed at The Groveland Hotel for 2 nights during our trip to Yosemite. Our stay was wonderful! The rooms were very quaint and comfortable. The only issue I had was that the water in the shower would start off hot then get freezing cold and then back to hot. Because it's a small town and and ..."old building I assume it's the sharing of the pipes. The back courtyard was very relaxing and what I loved best was that they had a momma cat with her 3 kittens playing back there. The staff were so loving to these cats. The staff were very kind to us all as well! I definitely recommend staying here, having their amazing morning breakfast and relaxing. " More >
