Our room was very comfortable and looked like it had been recently redecorated - newer furniture and fixtures, fresh paint, granite counter and shower enclosure, nice curtains with good black-out drapes. The bed was comfortable. The motel exceeded our expectations and we were quite pleased with it. That said, there are 2 reasons that I rate this place a 4 rather than a 5: 1.   "I was looking for a place to stay in Boulder Creek. Ben Lomond is just a few miles down the road and this turned out VERY nice. The place is a residence has has been modified as a B&B. They layout is very nice with a large common room with fireplace, patio and other outdoor sitting areas. The rooms ..."are small and dark, but charming. The bathroom in our room was replete with claw-foot bathtub. Everything was clean. The operators (Gael & Jack) were very friendly. The grounds were enchanting. My wife didn't really want to go anywhere. I can see this would be a fantastic place for a quiet getaway to just enjoy the grounds. They have wine & cheese available all day long. And a home cooked breakfast that was fantastic. My wife has a gluten allergy and Gael baked her some gluten free muffins the day before.
