The grounds are stupendous: depths of palm trees along the path to main hotel and an extraordinary exhibition of terracotta statues. There is a bar and restaurant open during the daytime, unique in Brazil for us. The meals were robustly priced but good and breakfast the most diverse of our holiday, including tapiocas and tapioca pudding - a horror for those of a certain age and English!   "Not to repeat what everyone has and will say but I will just affirm it once more, this is the place to stay in Olinda. If you aren't into industrial, run-of-the-mill over priced touristy experiences (ummm, and who is?!?!) then you should tots stay with Yolanda and Sebastian. Yolanda is like the best..." breakfast maker EVER and simply exudes warmth and kindness. I would pay just to drink her juices (b/c she makes the best ones EVER) and hang out with her. But it gets better! Sebastian is super witty and insightful about the town and the room is great. There is a hammock, warm shower, and most beautiful view ever.There is a constant sea breeze and hummingbirds accompany breakfast. The house is a few steps away from the Praça da Sé. Did a 3 city northeast tour and this was far and away the best part of our trip. Already planning a return! " More >
