  "STAYED IN THE PAST & JUST CALLED IN & MADE WELCOME !!!"
  "This was my 3rd visit to Tarawa within 3 yrs & recently spent 3 wks in Tarawa as a tourist from 14/02/13 to 07/03/13, during my 1st visit in 2010 I was able to stay at Mary's Motel for one week, during my 2nd visit in 2011 & this recent visit I wasn't able to stay due to my dates & the Motel being f..."ully booked out. During my recent stay I called in at Mary's Motel to say hello to the staff, the staff made me very welcome polite & professional. Interacted with some of the other guests & purchased a drink & a meal, good service & the food was good with a large portion, meal prices not to expensive. Management also made me very welcome & on one occassion was able to get a lift back to my accommodation. Management was able to confirm when the next Kiribati Cultural Dance would happen & I was able to attend on Wednesday 06/03/13 during the evening & throughly enjoyed watching the young group dance, i'd like to once again thank all the staff at Mary's Motel in making me so welcome & hope to ...   "We stumbled upon this beautiful place as we took a local bus from Teaoraereke to explore Tarawa on our second last day in Kiribati. Having just spent 2 glorious weeks on the outer islands of Abemama and Abaiang staying in traditional kia kias (small thatched huts), we found ourselves back on South T..."arawa preparing to head back to Melbourne. The bus ride was a great adventure in itself. The four of us hopped on the cramped bus and happily listened to music being played on high volume. It felt more like being at a rock concert than being in a bus. The driver obviously loved one particular song, as it kept being played over and over again. By the end of the bus trip, we knew every word of his favorite song. After travelling for only 10 metres or so, the bus stopped and a few more people jumped in. After 40 minutes we crossed a bridge at Buota and the bus stopped to let us off. I asked the lady how much we owed and it seemed too cheap. I gave her extra; she smiled and then gave me back...   "great place, very peaceful"
  "I have stayed with groups (19 in one and 20 the other - mostly young people) at Tabon te Keekee on two occasions. On both occasions we were greeted warmly and treated very well.The staff were friendly and helpful and went out of their way to help us meet other locals. The food is very high standard...." The accommodation is clean and well set up, beds turned down and mosquito coils lit. Getting to the accommodation is in itself an adventure - the road is difficult and it may mean wading across the causeway at low tide but well worth the effort. Veronica, Uataa and Takatiu went out of their way to help. A visit to the clam farm and boat builder is a bonus. I don't understand negative comments about this place. " More >
