Breakfasts were excellent, front desk highly competent and helpful, waiting staff and porters friendly, human and efficient (a rare combination!), unsurpassable views front (the Blue Mosque from their charming garden) and back (the Sea of Marmara from the sunny breakfast terrace), and rooms ranging from stunning to good. True, the bathrooms are a trifle cramped, but the reward is a shower to match any hammam. If I could own a hotel anywhere in the world, it would be this one: somewhere to be proud of, with a thoroughly willing, cheerful and professional staff.
