Not really a problem unless you carry something, just an issue to be aware of. There are rooms on the ground floor as well if the stairs are a problem for you. Our room was very spacious and the bathroom was simply outstanding. It was huge with a deep, deep tub, large sink, a separate shower with glass doors and an enclosed toilet. Just fabulous. We had a King-size bed and it was simply heavenly. I don't think I've ever slept as well in any other hotel. The antique mirror in our room was beautiful, but unfortunately had big cracks. Situated amongst beautiful and I suspect expensive villas it is only a short walk to the town centre. Parking was easy at the hotel and we felt the car (with GB plate) was pretty safe. However, Hil..."versum is a difficult place to navigate round and we were glad of our satnav which brought us right to the door of the hotel. We had an excellent dinner at the hotel - not a huge menu but food was good and well presented. The waiter was very friendly and made you feel very welcome. Reception staff not so keen to engage in conversation but efficient. Our room located at the top of the building was adequate but not luxurious and did get very hot. I assume there is no air conditioning at the hotel which I suspect could be a problem for some visitors. " More >

Yes the hotel is an older style but you are in Hilversum, a small town. The rooms were large and had everythi..."ng we could have wanted. We had free wifi and a great buffet breakfast included. The location is fantastic as we could walk into the centre of town, to the markets and the train station. We were visiitng our son and when he drove to visit us he was given parking. We also celecrated our 30th wedding anniversary while we were there and we were given a beautiful flower bouquet. I cannot fault the Amrath Grand and would not hesitate to stay there again. " More >
