In lucca we ate in a 5 star restaurant with very inexpensive prices. everything fresh and made that day. Ristorante Giglio recommended by the hotel. ate their twice. also at at da nonna clara and trattoria pizzeria da gherardo in the Piazza Anfiteatro for the largest calzone's we have ever seen or eaten but excellent and both good prices.   "We have booked this lovely hotel by booking.com. We booked a double room with 2 single beds for a price of 138€ for two nights. Once we arrived we were shown a confirm letter from booking.com that had booked us a regular twin for a single use. Now, first of all, this caused a huge amouth of emba..."rrassment, since we were two relatively strange people, and secondly we were asked to pay an extra fee, for the second guest. Once I mentioned this to booking.com, they twisted me around from one office to another one.mand I'm still without an answer. Nor refund. And since this isn't the first time I have strange bookings, I use this hotel and this recession to point it out. Hotel it self is lovely one. We enjoyed out there, although it was nasty two rainy days. Personnel was attend, and rooms were cozy and a bit "spooky" as they could be in an old castle. We didn't see ghosts but I wouldn't mind if we did. It would have fitted in. I will go back some day soon, since I also love L... " More >

  "Just an 8 minute walk from the train station and across the street from the town walls. Clean rooms, good breakfast. Staff was very friendly, English speaking who went out of their way to help us. The free bikes were perfect for a few hours of riding on the wall and through Lucca."
