  "Great stay."
  "Stayed here two nights with a large group while on a Reformation Tour through Germany. I honestly would not have guessed that this was a Best Western Hotel because it was really nicer than most of their hotels I've stayed in through the years. This has to be one of the nicest hotels in Wittenburg...." It was not here when I was visiting Wittenburg back in 2004, so is fairly new. It is located right next to the Lutherhaus at the far end of the old town. It is probably a 5-10 minute walk to the town square, and less to Philip Melanchton's house, which is also a new exhibit in town. Just behind the town square is a nice shopping center also within easy walking distance, and the beautiful old city church where Martin Luther preached hundreds of sermons. The beautiful castle church down at the opposite end of town was closed in February unfortunately for renovations. They are doing some major work on it due to the upcoming 500th year celebration of the Reformation (2017). Dont know how... " More >

  "My 80 year old father, sister and I were visiting Wittenberg to see where Martin Luther lived. The hotels right in town were very expensive so I chose the Hotel Tannenspitz which was actually several miles away. It was a great choice! The owner is gracious and accommodating. She doesn't speak Englis..."h but since my father speaks German it really wasn't a problem. The hotel is beautiful, the rooms are clean and spacious. Breakfast by the fireplace was wonderful. The grounds are lovely with sheep and chickens in the field behind it. Oscar and Sophie the resident cats greeted us each time we came in. The stairs were a little tricky to carry luggage up but we found that to be true in many hotels in Europe. I highly recommend the Hotel Tannenspitz to anyone visiting Wittenberg. " More >

The hotel is perfectly situated in a quiet street in the centre of Wittenberg, which is one of the most beautiful and most interesting towns that I have ever visited. All the main attractions of the town are just a few minutes' walk from the hotel, except the Hunterwasserschule, which is about 30 minutes' walk from the centre of the town. " More >
