We later found out the hotel is only 5 mins walk from the Highway bus stop. Didn't use the Onsen but it looked nice when I poked my head in. They have massage chairs, billiards, Japanese Manga. Views of Fuji from some rooms. The staff were very kind - especially when we ended up at the other end of the lake and came and fetched us - they got extra points for doing that. " More >

The owners are very helpful suggesting walks and places we might visit. They gave us a delicious meal on the first..." evening. They said they would be happy to give us another meal on the second evening but suggested we might like to try a local restaurant to give some variety. The breakfasts were excellent as well. There were toys for the children. There is not a great number of rooms which adds to the friendliness. One minor problem is that it is quite difficult to find -we rang from a mobile only to discover that we were on the main road, right by the track that leads to the pension. More serious could be that you might have difficulty if at least one person in your party did not speak Japanese. " More >
