  "This was our 4th visit to the Petwood hotel. This time we did not stay as the hotel had been fully booked for months so we just went for morning coffee and lunch and to the reunion. This is a marvellous place. We love it. Set in beautiful grounds, with a fabulous interior with the famous connection..." to the 617 dam busters squadron. The hotel looked beautiful, as it always does. And the staff are so friendly and so helpful. The young man serving in the squadron bar couldn't be nicer and more helpful, and for his young age had extensive knowledge of the history of the hotel and the squadron. This is a truly superb hotel, and often has WWII veterans staying. We were lucky enough to meet 4 war veteran's and the lovely Barnes Wallace's daughter. Oh and lunch was good too !! " More >

  "We stopped here for lunch and wasnt disappointed. The service was excellant as was the food and a lovely pint of beer, and the fish and chips hit the spot. We were staying at the nearby hotel and it made a welcome break."

  "The hotel is in a beautiful spot with lovely grounds and the place is really nice to look at. The inside is a little old world and I guess the rooms are as well. Having said that the place is clean and tidy and generally well looked after. Yes there is loads of memorabilia of 617 squadron and there ..."is a photo of my mother who packed their parachutes for the famous dam raid....shes in the photo to the right in the bar area.....so its worth going to she her there.... The only poor point was that during breakfast my table guest was the wife of a rather famous pilot from New Zealand...her order for tea and brown toast was completely ignored and forgotten leaving her feeling rather neglected and thereby rushed to get to the memorial service.....breakfast staff take note please......oh by the way this my third visit to the hotel and standards are consistant.
