However, we need not have worried - the Don Pedro is excellent in all respects. Rooms - although needing an up-date, were cleaned daily, spacious with comfortable beds and balcony. Food - really good choices but would have liked to have had brown bread for toast at breakfast. Pool - Very good,always enough sun beds and a life guard on duty at all times. Water polo and aquagym carried out daily. Activities - Cannot rate the entertainment staff high enough (special mention for Addu).   "Treat the views of anyone who completely rubbishes this hotel with a degree of suspicion as it may be that either they have some axe to grind or they were at a different hotel and are unaware of their error. This the second time that I have stayed in this Hotel and having known what I was paying fo..."r I was happy to go again. However, that said, you have to accept that not being a 5 star hotel it will not be to 5 star standards nor will you get 5 star treatment but you are not having to pay 5 star prices. The front of the hotel is a wee bit off putting but is not representative of the rest of the hotel. Overall like most hotels in the Canaries it is showing it's age and is a bit tired looking. I arrived at the hotel at 9:30pm and the hotel receptionist directed me immediately to the dining room so that i could get something to eat.   "I booked this hotel as a last minute sunshine break and that's exactly what we got! I didn't pay much attention to the hotel itself, the pictures looked nice enough but after it was booked and my partner looked at the reviews we were less than optimistic! On arrival, and viewing the building it do..."es look like a run down estate block and honestly I was thinking about emptying the bank account and finding a different hotel! But, after entering and booking in, the staff being very helpful, we found our room. Not too pleased it was on the first floor we returned to the desk and asked to change to a pool view which was done with no problem. The complex is big and the pool is amazing (close to the bar and music on throughout the day!) the rooms are big and clean all staff were very friendly... The food was nothing to rave about but plenty of choice and if all else fails..there's chips! The weather was amazing, small beach area near the hotel and a very rocky beach a small walk away!
