Luckily I found this wonderful Hotel . Wow beautiful grounds with flowers everywhere and lots of fresh air as the rooms are very large and modern with high ceilings, also 2 large windows that open up to lots of that Vilcabamba air. Very peaceful during the night no loud roosters except for a few ducks on premises. The breakfasts are included and very good. Whats even better is the on-site resturant is spectacular with a fine dining atmosphere beautiful linens and silverware, but the prices are very low Filet mignon with vegetables and potatoes excellent only about 6.50 dollars other steaks like the peeper steak with mushroom sa...   "Le Rendez-Vous is a beautiful, peaceful hostel at the edge of Vilcabamba. A number of small bungalow-style houses surround a well-kept garden and courtyard, enclosed by a wall which blocks out the noise from the street and makes it feel safe. Every house has a nice terrace area with hammock outside...". To watch hummingbirds fly around the garden of Rendez-Vous while reading a book was very, very relaxing. Room was very spacious with a big firm double bed. Clean bathroom and hot shower. They have facilities to do your own laundry. The owner, a frenchman, is very friendly and helpful, speaks English, and can give a good map and information about hiking trails and the surroundings. The breakfast is delicious - homemade bread every morning, fruit salad or eggs, juice and coffee/tea/chocolate. It was the perfect start of any day in Vilcabamba. " More >

  "A group of us stayed here for about 5 days while visiting Vilcabamba, Ecuador. It's a wonderful place to relax - especially since each room comes with a hammock and front porch. The owner was very friendly and always on hand to fulfill any requests - he speaks French, English and Spanish. The compli..."mentary breakfast was great - home-cooked eggs or tropical fruit and fresh, homemade bread, fruit juice and coffee/tea. But the most winning feature is how beautiful the grounds are. Completely enclosed by a high wall, the little cabins are nestled among lush tropical plants, gardens and banana trees. You can spend some time just walking around the little pathways and enjoying the nature right in front of your cabin. This place is also very safe, with the front door locked and the owner living on premises. I recommend to single female travelers. And at such a low price, this is a great value.
