The Dusit is an old hotel, suffering a little now with age. However the rooms were tidy and immaculately cleaned by the hotel staff every day. Entrance lobby to the hotel was particularly lovely. The 'old part of town' is exactly where this hotel is located. There are lots of market areas and some interesting shops to visit within a... More

Dusit hotel is located in the city center of Sakon Nakhon, close to many small shops, markets and restaurants. The outside looks like some maintenance (paint job) has been delayed for some time, but inside a friendly staff is waiting, speaking fairly good English, in a nice atmosphere. The room we had was spacious, good shower in rather small (but... More

Did not stay but looked at the rooms. Did not understand what 'older part of town' (in one of the reviews) meant until we went to the area around Big C, near the MJ Majestic, where we did stay. The Dusit is an externally scruffy building in an area that seems of the same age, likely late 70's? The public... More

Sakon Nakhon is void of 4-5 star hotels. Dusit is one of the best 3 star accommodations in town (Majestic (MJ) being the other). The Dusit has the advantages of being a smaller, quieter, facility with a 'homey' atmosphere. It is also located in the older part of town and very accessible to many family run, local restaurants. Exploring this... More

I stayed a few nights in S. and was very happy with my Superior room in Dusit Hotel (710 Baht). Comfy bed, stylish room, clean bathroom with decent water pressure. The cheaper categories didn't look as appealing, though. Only downside may be the location (10-20 min walk to the night market or Big C).

Stayed for 3 nights. Not much to do around the immediate area. Nice vegetarian restaurant one street east and north. Ask for "raan ahaan jai" Economy Room was 400 baht per night. AirCon, wireless internet but flaky connection. Room was dark, dreary, but functional. Mosquitoes in the room. Swimming pool was inoperative. Staff was efficient and helpful. Price did not... More
