Excellent accommodation near Cape Town (one hour by car). You are welcomed to Darling Lodge by helpful hosts who provide a great welcome and equally as important after a long flight from Europe - a nice cold beer or delicious wine! Immediately you have a sense of calm with the quiet surroundings and lovely pool area. Service and breakfasts are... More

If you like a small cosy place to stay, the Darling Lodge is The place to bee! Very kind staff, helpful with ideas, tours, bookings and more. Darling it self is a small town but has it own, Wine, Beer and dairy products. Of course you can taste them all in the lodge's honesty bar. The Breakfast is delicious and... More

The house is funished warm and romantic and makes you feel at home at once. We had a lovely room with Victorian bathroom, lots of space clean and comfortable. Breakfast is more than complete with fresh fruit, good bread and the owners are cooking your egg and serve them how you wish. The garden is like a secret hidden place... More

A lovely place to stay, very exquisite rooms (try the bath tub!), each one individually and tastefully decorated, wonderful hosts who know where to go and what to do (and serve great breakfast!!). We had just a great time, thank you Oli and Stephan. We will come back, not only for the Basler Läckerli :-).

During our 3 week holiday in South Africa we also made a trip to Darling which was a great pleasure but too short. We saw a wonderful performance by Peter-Dirk Uys in a hilarious satirical political show which we enjoyed immensely (as well as the delicious lunch served in his establishment) and we only wished that we could have seen... We spent 3 lovely nights in this "boutique" guest house. Stephan and Oliver (both Swiss) took it over in September and are truly hospitable hosts. On 2 January there were no restaurants open that evening so they cooked us a delicious 3 course meal which the 4 of us enjoyed in their gorgeous dining room. They have a full honesty... More

After spending a few days in Cape Town I ventured into Darling a lovely unexpected village where you can visit some stunning wineries, the best being Cloof Wines who offer some outstanding award winning wines and a lovely lunch too. We have little to add to recent reviews. This is a lovingly managed property with beautiful, individual (if a bit small) rooms which are clean and well-equipped with comfortable beds and spacious bathrooms. The garden has a central water-feature, a good range of plants, trees and birds - very relaxing. The breakfast is one of the best ever, including fishy... More
