We stayed at this hotel for one night and had the worst experience ever. Firstly, we were not informed of the specials when we booked or booked in. the frontline staff was only interested in upgrading our stay and we ended up paying for a suit instead of a basic room. We left it at that and thought we would... More

My husband and I spent the last night of our Honeymoon in December '11 at this hotel. MyPond went out of their way to make us feel welcome and we enjoyed the large Honeymoon Suite which they upgraded us to upon hearing we'd abandoned the hotel we'd originally booked due to the lack of attention to detail. The Honeymoon Suite... More

I had been booked in a suite on the riverside of this hotel, which was a very spacious room with everything I wanted, nice and comfy bed, good bathroom with shower, a desk to do some work. The hotel is run bij students from the hospitality college of port alfred, nice to see how these people do their level best... More

Was staying there at the end of June / beggining of July 2011 for four nights. Nice, new hotel, great and friendy staff, not so good breakfasts. Most time not working wi-fi. Enough, spacy room, not quite efficient heater/air con - lot of noise, smelly and it can be freezing or heating only - and nothing in between. One awful... More

Fantastic Service, Hugo the manager went out of his way to assist me which was late one night and came to introduce himself the next morning to insure that I was completely satisfied and to see if I need any further assistance

What a treat to stay two nights in a family 'room' here - two rooms actually, both with televisions and superb bed linen. Spotlessly clean, warm (ecofriendly geothermal heating) and comfortable with a real upmarket feeling. The riverside setting is hard to beat with the whole place opening straight onto the river bank. A sun trap to watch local birdlife... More

MyPond is definitely not an ordinary hotel. The decor is funky and the hotel is full of interesting quirks. The staff were very friendly and the rooms were clean and well equipped. We stayed here twice (on our way up to the Underberg and again when we returned). We also got bumped up to a suite on our first stay.... More

Stayed for a long weekend with my two older children in a family suite. Perfect size for us all, comfy sleeper couch(Im told!)nice quality linens. Modern chairs which despite looking really uncomfortable , were very cosy to sit on. Bathroom only had shower but it was a good one! Conveniently located in a part of town you could safely walk... We are from Gauteng and we spent 3 nights at the MyPond Hotel in December 2009 - from the booking online (which was completely hassle-free and convenient) to the last evening, was absolute bliss. The room we stayed in was comfortable, clean, air-conditioned and had all the amenities you'd expect from a four star hotel and more. Every one of... More
