We absolutely loved our stay here. The bungalows are great, the atmosphere is relaxing and the food is to die for. Rent a motorbike and you are free to see every angle of this (tiny) island. We were there when it was the anual Relationship Day, an event the whole island attends, really nice. We highly recommend staying here and... More

Really good place to stay with a wonderful view and a Nice swimming pool. The owners are really friendly and do everything they can to make your vacation unforgettable. I suggest bamboo hideaway to all my fellows canadian friends. Try the food at the restaurant or just take a drink and enjoy the view and the tranquillity of the place.

This was our second trip to Koh Mak and although we rented a house this time round we visited Bamboo 3 times during our stay on the island. This place has outstanding hosts in Martin & Katie who cannot do enough for you. Their resort is one on the best on the island and very relaxing. If you want a... More

From the first e-mail I sent to Katie, I got a fantastic support and we were confident that our decision to stay at Bamboo Hidaway was the right one long before we arrived. This is a really nice, intimate resort with very friendly and helpful hosts. Excellent seaview and sunsets in a very relaxing atmosphere, and the food was great,... More

My family and I spend 4 wonderful days at the Bamboo Hideaway. We loved the bungalows - built mostly from bamboo, very clean and well presented with simple natural furnishings. The bungalow had air con. and a mosquito net (although we found we didn't use the mozzie net). Martin, Katie and Pe Toi were outstanding hosts! They were always available... More

Overall a fair experience. Hosts are enthusiastic and friendly. This is a really nice intimate feel resort with pool and bar - if being beside the beach isnt important for you its great. Huts are cool design and well finished. Location is far from anywhere and u need to hire a motorbike to get around. If u can't hire motorbike... More

I stayed at the Bamboo Hideaway for a very enjoyable 5 days in January. The hotel arranges pick-up from the ferry and upon arrival, the owners warmly greet you, providing you with an overview of all services at the hotel and activities on the island. The view from the pool over the Gulf of Thailand is stunning. The bungalows are... More

First of all: the hosts (Katie and Martin) are fantastic and friendly, their motto is to keep their hideaway running as a family. Hence even if you are a solo traveller, you will not sit alone unless you want to - you will make friends easily or Katie or Martin will join you to have a nice chat. The bungalows... More

Looking to experience the wonders of the Thai bounty islands in peaceful, beautiful and friendly surroundings? Then this is the place to go! My family and I spend a week here over new years, and you will not find more attentive people in Thailand! The bamboo huts on stilts are very charming and the pool, the sunset and the view... More

If you want an authentic Thai experience, then you'd do better to go to your local Thai restaurant than to stay at Bamboo hideaway. This place is run by a sleazy money-grabbing Australian who cares about as much about Thai values as George W Bush cares about islamic values. I booked to stay here with my family in New Year... Your comments are noted, but this is not personal as you have chosen to make it. We have a standard cancellation policy that was adhered to. By the way I am a New Zealander. I hope your child has made a full recovery. More
