We got married at this amazing venue on Saturday 18th May 2013. From start to finish it was fantastic and very good value. All our guest said they had a fantastic day, the food the service and accomodation was first class! From first meeting Richard the owner to all the staff we were made to feel so welcome and nothing... More

My boyfriend and I stayed here as part of a KGB deal and were concerned after reading some of the reviews from fellow guests. However we couldn't have been more wrong! Our room was clean and tidy and offered everything we needed for our 2 night stay. The staff were friendly and service was prompt. We ate in the restaurant... More

We read reviews before we set off & thought we would have to make the best of it! However, we were pleasantly surprised at what we found. We booked using a group on so got a good deal. The hotel is on a country lane, so lovely & peaceful. There is parking on both sides of the hotel & guests... More

My partner and I were given "Groupon" Voucher as X'mas present. We were looking forward to it but got epically disappointed!!! The reception / dining room / bar made a pleasant impression, but unfortunately that was the only positive we could find over whole evening! First we noticed that door to our room did not have ANY handle! Even small... More

We stayed in the accommodation for a wedding. The wedding itself was amazing and the location was lovely. The food was stone cold. All food served that day was. We paid £110 for our room. I was bitterly disappointed. We were greeted by a messy toilet and dirty cups for our tea and coffee. The room is dark and dingy.... More

After reading some of the reviews on here we weren't expecting much but we were pleasantly surprised by the Blazing Donkey, especially when you consider the small price we paid through Travelzoo. We didn't get much of a welcome however the room was well furnished and very clean with nice crisp sheets. Nice rural location. We went down to dinner... More

My wife and I stayed at the Blazing Donkey for 2 nights when we were attending a Wedding there. The wedding itself appeared to go without a hitch and the food was OK (but no better). As wedding guests, were on a preferential rate for the accommodation. This rate was £90 per room per night inclusive of breakfast. Let's take... More

We were given a gift of a 'two night stay' a this hotel . The 'stable type' bedroom had very thin walls, we could hear all action in the room next door, did not make for pleasant listening,.! The food in the restaurant was appalling, we only went to breakfast the one morning as the food was so bad. I... More

This was 'a deal' so we didn't expect a lot. Old building very nice with great fireplaces and old wooden floors. 'Stable' type bedrooms were just ok but the bed was comfortable, the sheets crisp and clean and lots of very hot water. But - bathroom door didn't shut, sink hot tap leaked and the door into the bedroom was... More
