We stayed at the Cape Dutch Quarter in February this year, with our three children aged 6, 4 and 2. The accommodation, food and service were truly fantastic, and we found the staff warm, friendly and inviting. Also has laundry facilities on site if needed. We did feel a little concious of our children making too much noise in the... More

We rented one of the old cape dutch houses in April. It was clean and comfortable and we had an amazing wonderful weekend. Jayson and his staff are friendly and helpful. The houses are beautifully furnished with old solid wood furniture. You feel like an old duke/earl living in your estate mansion. Not a cheap stay but well worth it.

CDQ was fantastic, from the friendly, informative staff to the well appointed rooms to the period furniture. The honeymoon suite is large and beautifully fitted out with yellow-wood and stinkwood furniture, and opens out onto the Cape Dutch heaven of Church St. Beware the noise of the numerous feral peacocks early in the morning though! In the back is a... More

Spent one night here, the owner was very helpful and accommodating. I got the economy breakfast, but would recommend doing the full course option, served up in a charming dining room. I stayed in the traveler's lodge which is decked out in art deco all the way, fun.

Jason saved us from a bad night at another farm near Tulbagh by offering us to stay at Wagon Shed at the last minute. Although we called 20 minutes before our arrival and previous guests had just left, the room was tidy and clean. The room is spacious and decorated with a lot of taste, which gives the general place... More

We were lucky to spend a night in the beautiful Cape Dutch Quarters. We loved the sense of history and the peacefulness of the setting. Our room was welcoming with a comfortable bed and fabuolus shower. Excellent information was avalable to hand about the local area and restaurants. The room was clean and well maintained. There were lots of interesting... More

Lovingly restored old house full of period furniture and knicknackery. There is an agreeable seating area and a few loungers behind in a sunny cobbled courtyard fitted with a pool. Our room, which opened onto the central dining room, was very dark with only one bedside lamp. Jason, the charming host - always in a rush - stopped and chatted... More

Greetings from Tulbagh. I have just figured out how to respond to there reviews and would like to take the opportunity to say that I am sorry for your less than perfect stay in the guest house last year. Although the room is the darkest in the house, there is no excuse for housekeeping not having serviced your room. Should... More

We stayed one night in a nice room in this historical buiding in Tulbagh. Cape Dutch Quarter consists of a collection of a few old houses, in which we had a room in the "country manor" part, which is by far the most attractive part of this complex. This house is filled with antiques, which gives a special atmosphere. The... More

We only stayed one night but would have loved to stay for longer. A great place to base yourself while exploring the winelands. Beautifully appointed, and very friendly and attentive staff. My only criticism is that the pool was a little slimy.
