Having decided at the last minute (for the bank holiday weekend) to visit Lindisfarne and the surrounding area it was great to find available accommodation at Primrose Cottage. The welcome was amazing. Irene and Ben looked after us with such wonderful hospitality. The price of the room £70 was fantastic value. The double room (twin beds put together by Irene)... More

We received such a warm welcome upon arrival at this bnb. We were asked if we would like tea and were pleasantly surprised to find it also meant delicious homemade scones with jam and cream! The rooms were a fantastic size, were spotless and had everything you would need. We were only disappointed that we could not stay for more... More

When walking a long distance footpath a number of things become very important and a friendly welcome at the end of the day's walk with victoria sponge and tea must be right there with the important things. Hot shower and somewhere to relax in comfort follow. An extensive and interesting breakfast menu that you know will get the next day... More

We received a wonderful welcome here (accompanied by excellent tea and home made scones!). We stayed in a very comfortable, spotlessly clean room with its own sitting room attached. The dining/sitting area was bright and comfy. There was a good choice at breakfast, which was beautifully cooked and presented. Our hosts were lovely: very helpful and genuinely friendly. Conveniently situated... More

I arrived here on a Sunday afternoon after a wonderful day's walking on the St. Cuthbert's Way. It was like coming home. Irene and Bob welcomed me with a cup of tea and a huge slice of cake (definitely hit the spot...). My room was great, more of a suite really, all immaculate. I loved the attention to detail (comfy... We have just returned from a fabulous trip to Northumberland! Primrose Cottage was like a home from home - only spotless and the food better!! Bob and Irene are lovely people and we felt more like family than paying guests. The warm welcome of cream tea was just what we needed after our journey, and Irene and Bob gave us... More

Thousands of kilometres from home and the hostess wouldn't give us the wifi code so we could contact family. Not good enough. However, lovely room and good breakfast.

We were muddy and wet after a long day of hiking when Bob picked us up in Fenwick. Irene welcomed us with hot tea and fresh scones with jam and clotted cream. What a treat! The pub just down the road gave us an excellent dinner. We enjoyed a comfortable night and a delicious breakfast before Bob drove us back... More

The best thing I could possibly say about Bob and Irene is that they made us feel like friends visiting their beautiful home. They were wonderfully helpful and gracious hosts. Breakfast was very good and the town of Lowick is charming. Great pub food just down the street, by the way.
