I was most surprised with the property I selected and will return there again in the future. The staff very friendly, courteous, smiling all the time and very respectful. I was more than happy with the room service which was prompt and the food hot not cold like some 5 star hotels I know in Thailand and served with a... More

We stayed here for three weeks in January and thoroughly enjoyed the hotel. We come to Laos on a yearly trip for work and usually stay at gueshouses, but on a friend's recommendation stayed here. The rooms are very clean, the beds excellent and the staff although they don't speak much English are very pleasant and helpful. We had excellent... More

The Dao Savanh Hotel is a newish hotel in Savannakhet. It has an excellent view of the Mekong River. The rooms are clean and affordable. The hotel is perfectly acceptable for a short stay in Savannakhet. The hotel's management is young and inexperienced but if you lower your expectations, the hotel is just fine. I stay here often and the... More

Although we visited Savannakhet some months ago, I wish to share our bad experience in this hotel. We booked for 2 adults and 2 kids and 1 extra bed was arranged. With check out a very high sum was charged for the extra bed. Since we had not been informed, I did not want to accept the payment and asked... More

We decided to stay overnight in Savannakhet on the way to vientiane and thought we'll break the long bus ride by staying in a nicer place and splash out, liitle did we know this was a bad idea. Staff were not welcoming at all as we didn't have a reservation even though we e-mailed them two days before arrival. They... More

I had the opportunity of staying in this hotel before its grand launch in 2009. At that time, the hotel was still on a dry run but I still had a good experience with them. The hotel room was clean and offered free wifi. The hotel itself is huge and offers a good view of the Mekong River.

This was one of the better place in the town. Not very many people spoke english but we got by. They had a good car/shuttle service. We rented their bikes and rode all over town. The spa was a great treat. Very inexpensive and wonderful services. Clean spaces. The pool was a great relief after the 95 degree heat. Very... More

This is quite a modern hotel and has a beautiful location on the Mekong. The swimming pool is great. It is a little pricey and the prices quoted in other posts are not correct. The cheapest room is $75.00. I discovered later that I might have been able to book the room for $60.00 on the net. As I didn't... More

We had a superb meal with very attentive service (being the only customers!). Presentation, setting, crockery, cutlery, flower arrangement, background music were all carefully planned and the wine list featured some amazing French wines at reasonable prices though I don't know if they are actually in stock as I didn't order them. It is cheap western prices like $15 for... More

This new hotel is by far the best option in Savannakhet. It is situated in a quiet area on the edge of town with everything you could need. The large pool and spa in the front overlooks the Mekong. Second storey river view rooms are around $48. Breakfast included but not buffet. The restaurant serves excellent food at reasonable prices.... More
