Came up to Edale with some mates for a weekend's walking and had a great time. The campsite is very well located for walking/ outdoor activities and is at the start of the Pennine Way in the shadow of Kinder Scout. It's a kind of 'free for all' site with no allocated pitches which is good if you want to... More

Personally i liked the strict rules- ensured peace and quiet from early eveming until about 7:30am. Pitch up during the day and then pay about 5-6pm when office opens. Several locations to pitch - one by stream. Toilet block very basic and parking restricted - which have to pay extra for. Only noise i could hear was from nearby rail... More

Camping in Edale was an annual summer holiday (8 years) with family (4 adults 1 child), the lovely views and walks around Edale made it a perfect place for a camping expedition. However due to our visit last year, we decided to go some place else due to the excessive rules and regulations in place on the camp site. At... More

Found staff very helpfull, premises clean and facilities good. Bit pricey but its worth every penny. One thing to moan about-noisey crows from nearby grave yard, but guess thats beyond control. Overall v-happy.

Stayed in this campsite in the summer; the staff were welcoming, the location was excellent and the campsite itself was well maintained with good pitches and a good amount of space. The prices weren't too high, although you did have to pay for the showers (20p for 2 minutes, 40p for 4 minutes and so on). Overall a good campsite... More

Visited this campsite with a group of year 12 school children and there were alot of rules! The campsite is nicely split into relevant fields, thus enabling private guests to be seperate etc. The facilities were rather basic, 20p per 2 mins (max 6 min) for a shower, only you could not see the timer from inside the shower. The... More

We went here for two weeks in July 2007. they have a lot of rules, are friendly folk but they charged 20p for 2minutes of shower that took 2 whole minutes to heat up, the local pub the Rambler is absolutely great for summer & people who like local attractions like musicians etc fantastic food!!! there's a post office/shop that... It is such a shame that a campsite in such a lovely spot and with such a great lay out is let down by such awful management. They reminded me of Bill Brysons description of a 1970's guest house and seemed to entirely miss the point that we were paying guests (and it isn't cheap!). The rules seem to have... More

We stayed here many years ago so when we decided to visit the area again it seemed like the ideal choice. It is our kind of site, no caravans, split into 5 fields, an OK shower block and beautiful surroundings. I guess the down sides are you can't park near the tent although also a blessing as this means there... More
