We stayed at the Casona on two separate occasions while traveling to and from Cajamarca. The rooms were clean, but rustic. We actually hit our knees on the bathroom door while sitting on the toilet, so don't expect roomy restrooms. Leymebamba is an ideal stopover on the road from Cajamarca to Chachapoyas. It is a small place in a wonderfully scenic location, and interesting just to walk around and soak up the atmosphere. At the time of my visit it still had a remote village feel about it, with the local people as curious about the tourists as vice versa.... More
