We stayed here for 3 nights while exploring the rim of colca canyon and hiking in the area. The hotel is very pretty and located only 1 block from the plaza de armas where the bus from Arequipa stops, so it was convenient. The room was clean and comfortable. The food is also very good - we also ate at...

This is by far the nicest place to stay in Cabanaconde.
We had the Kuntur Wassi suite, a small but adorable suite, with a stone bath, and a private garden outside overlooking the canyon.
The staff was really nice, and gave us plenty of pure alpaca linens to fight the night cold.
The young chef at the restaurant served us...

Cabanaconde is a small, rather dusty desert town where I was expecting rustic, clean and decent accommodations and nothing more. I was totally unprepared for the charm and beauty of the Kunturwassi, from the cascades of pink flowers tumbling down the stone steps of the rear building where my clean, comfortable room was located, to the soothing sounds of the...

Hotel Kuntur Wassi is one of only a very few basic hotels in Cabanaconde, and from what we can tell it is also the nicest. It is a 3-star Peruvian hotel, nothing more, so there are rustic qualities about it, but if you are not expecting luxury then there is a lot to love about this place. We stayed there...

As a participant in the 3ra Marathon Internacional Princesa del Ampato was I glad to retreat to Hotel Kunturwassi after a tough climb from the bottom of Colca Canyon. The hotel is conveniently located close to the town square. Its architecture reflects the natural beauty of the region - lots of stone. We arrived at the hotel as a group...

We were actually at the K-Wassi in January 2008...it was awesome but what really made it so was Carlo. If he is still there you are in luck. He arranged a mule trek, laundry, gear storage, laffs and contributed to a great time. We did a 3 night canyon mule trek with Miguel- highly recommend finding these guys. The mule...
