We came for two days and stayed for the whole week, that's how good and cozy it was. The hospitality of the owner Michel (his sister was away this time) was outstanding and we really felt like at home. The cabanas are spacious and comfy and set in a nice shade. The breakfast set on the terrace overlooking the bay... More

Location was great, as it was well enough away from the main drag to dampen any noises, but close enough for nice walks on the beach. The rooms were simple, though we only slept there, and service is why we'd recommend this place. We always enjoy food in different areas, and this restaurant proved very satisfying. In particular, we asked... More

My girlfriend and I recently stayed in a cottage at Hotel el Marinique for just under a week in February of this year. Prior to getting there, all of our questions were answered promptly by Andy & Nicole which put us at ease when planning things out (e.g. renting an SUV or jeep to get there given the condition of... My husband and I stayed at El Marinique for our week-long honeymoon. We loved staying here! Instead of the crowded and overrated all-inclusive hotels, El Marinique was a quiet and down-to-earth spot. Andy & Nicole served excellent food (you should really try their pizza!) and were very helpful in telling us about local activities and appropriate rates for getting along.... More

We stayed at El Marinique for a week. The hotel insisted that we pay for the entire stay before we arrived, so when we were unhappy, we could not move locations. The B&B is fine. We stayed in an apartment, which was nice enough except for the shower, which had some kind of calcification on the knobs delivering a mild... More

It is unfortunate when a guest vocalizes their complaint publically and as such I would like to respond, however belatedly. We did not respond prior to this as we were not a paid member of Trip Advisor and could not access the "owner response" feature: First, it is (and always has been) our policy to require a deposit to make... This trip was by far one of the best things my husband and i have ever decided to do. The hotel was perfect and very importantly, very safe and secure. We felt completly at home and had a fantastic time. El Marinique is by far the best hotel in the whole Samana Peninsula. We were given fantastic advice and had... More

It's a year later and we're still talking about this place. Every once in awhile I'll say to my girlfriend "I miss Jerry", and she smiles and knows that I'm talking about the old yellow hound who stood guard over the front drive and loved going for walks. And that I'm talking about the wonderful time we had on vacation... More

We loved our stay at El Marinique and Las Galeras. Truly one of the most beautiful spots I've ever visited in the Caribbean. It was exactly what we were looking for. Our apartment (w/ fridge, stove and coffee maker) was quiet and clean. Nicole's breakfasts (included in our stay) were one of my favorite parts of the day. And Andy's... More

We would love to visit Andy and Nicole again. They provided the perfect setting for us to enjoy our first anniversary: Nicole's cooking, Andy's tales (and barbecue), the spacious cabin, the sunsets, the proximity to the beach, our hosts' warmth and sincerity - there is no end to the qualities I could list that made our stay, hands-down, the best...
