Family of 5, kids ages 8, 14 & 16 on a 10 day long trip to Dominican Republic from long island New York, we spent 1/2 of the time in Samana / Las Galeras and the 2 nd half in Punta Cana, A. B&B like this place is by far a better choice to the all inclusive huge places that... More

We spent 4 nights here and Esther and Pierre, the owners, were wonderful host...very welcoming and helpful with our questions about sites, beaches, restaurants, etc., to visit around Las Galeras. The bungalows are very charming and clean, though they are a bit close to each of the neighboring bungalows, so various noise can occasionally be a problem. But we would... More

A beautiful, peaceful and welcoming place, which made a fabulously relaxing holiday. We stayed for 6 days and Esther and Pierre were unfailingly helpful and generous. They have a great balance of being there when you need them, interested and also not intrusive. The garden is a joy, breakfast was something to look forward to everyday. Cannot recommend it enough,... More

My sister and I had a great stay in Las Galeras! Esther and Pierre were very welcoming, when we arrived on the first day we set our bags down and Esther had homemade banana bread and Presidentes for us on the patio. What a way to start a vacation! Our room was spacious, and the bathroom was very clean. The... More

For my husband's 40th birthday, we spent a week at Sol Azul in Las Galeras, Dominican Republic. This palapa-style bed and breakfast was just what we needed to relax and rejuvenate. Sol Azul is owned and run by Esther and Pierre who are originally from Switzerland. They keep the place well-maintained and take excellent care of their guests. Our room... More

We stayed here for 2 nights in las galeras.  The rooms are thatch roofed rooms on well kept grounds with a pool. For $60/night including breakfast it's a decent value but we decided to move to another property after blaring party music from town led to sleepless nights. The owners are friendly and helpful, particularly if you speak french. Pros:... More

Esther and Pierre are truly the most accommodating hosts I have ever experienced in a small hotel. The atmosphere is extremely relaxed and very comfortable. The breakfast is great and it's there whenever you are ready for it. They gave great recommendations and had plenty of information on all the possible excursions you might want to take. If you prefer... More

Sol Azul is a very clean affordable and comfortable B&B. Esther & Pierre have the gift of Hospitality. They keep the grounds pristine, everything in the rooms work well, the breakfast is great every day, and we never had any doubts about the security. Being from the states and only speaking "vacation spanish" made communication interesting at times. Most of... More
