Stayed here recently for a training course that took place in one of Moorhall's conference rooms. The food was lovely (breakfast, lunch and evening meal). Remembering this is a conference centre rather than a hotel, the centre appeared to be well equiped for our training needs, even with tea/coffee/biscuits/fruit available for our breaktimes. Selection of food available in the restaurant... More

Attended a function at Moor Hall with Dinner in their Edinburgh Restaurant. The meal was not at all good. Usual poor cooking, quality & presentation that you seem to get at a lot of these function dinners these days, with the obligatory Head Waiter directing where the waiting staff have to serve the plates to the tables. Surely it is their... More

I have just spent 2 nights at the Moor Hall and i think i was the only guest. The complex has the feel of a hospital with various building spread out around a central courtyard. The rooms are like every one else has discribed and are dated to be honest. The corridor smells musty, a bit like an old caravan... More

The grounds of the conference centre and couple of lovely pubs in Cookham were the up side of the facility. The bid downfall are the rooms. It was the smallest room I've ever stayed in. My husband came along and they charged us extra money for the second person although the room wasn't big enough for even one. The deco... More

Firstly let me say for business facilities and location this is really good. However the rooms are so bad. Double bed squeezed into corner of the room without room for even a bed side cabinet. The 1980's TV in some weird looking cupboard. The worst thing though was the bed linen with old brown fluffy blanket and sheet and an... More

Here for a four day conference. Excellent training facilities with excellent Audio/Visual staff. In fact, staff is the strong point of the facility. Friendly, helpful, easily available, and proactive. Location is certainly quaint, charming village of Cookham. Be clear that this is not London, and getting into London is not easy, though Cookham station is probably only half mile walk... More

I have utilised this place many times over the last few years due to its proximity to my company UK office. >Firstly, to be strictly accurate, this is not really a hotel, but more a conference centre and is part of the Institute of Marketing. >Secondly, it does have 80 rooms, but these are primarily designed and aimed at people... Really nice location in the village of Cookham - a bit hard to find (very limteded on signposts ) but once your there your greeted by a welcoming cheerful receptionist - then you have to drive around the centre to the accommodation area (nice grounds - well maintained) - the room (well you can read ALL the reviews they say... Arriving at Moorhall is slightly confusing. You enter through what looks like the entrance to a private house with no signs to let you know that there is a large car park to the rear. Check-in was brilliantly smooth and uneventful and it was really nice to see a 'more-mature' receptionist who knew what good customer service means. The grounds... More

The good points: • The hotel is in a quiet location, and I got a good night’s sleep. • The local beer (Rebellion bitter) in the bar is excellent. • I really liked the layout of the internal gardens at the hotel. • I loved playing chess with huge chess pieces on the outdoor chess board The bad points: •...
