A lovely, relaxing, spacious place to stay. We were only here a night (walking the SDW), but it would be great to spend a few days here, and to sit out on the lovely patio, relax, browse the books, watch a DVD (quite a big selection) and Amberley is a great village. Sarah is an excellent host and cook, providing... More

The Old Bakery is a lovely place in which to relax and enjoy the surrounding countryside; in particular the South Downs Way, which is just a few minutes (breathless) walk to a breath-taking view. We had a separate annex with double bed, bath/shower, garden and summer house to ourselves. Sarah is a lovely host and an incredible chef - sample... More

The Old Bakery was a lovely place to stay! A warm fire was greatly appreciated as we walked into an inviting and comfortable living space. Harley, the adorable Labrador was friendly but calm and really made the house feel a home. I felt truly looked after the whole of our stay with a constant supply of delicious food. Sarah was... More

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to The Old Bakery. Amberley is a perfect centre to go walking on the South Downs at any time of year. Set in the heart of this lovely village, you are made to feel at home the moment you arrive, with lanterns leading up to the front door and a lovely log fire in the... More

Our charming hosts made us feel at home straight away. Attentive but never intrusive. We were greeted by Sarah holding a lantern at the threshold to guide us in. The house, like the village, is full of character. There are no streetlamps to light your 5 minute walk to the local pub and all the better for it. Take the... More

Had a wonderful time at the old bakery. The suite had a separate living room leading onto a little garden and summer house! Sarah couldn't do enough for us and even made us a fire and gave us marshmallows to toast. She also made us a platter of food in the evening so we didn't have to go out -... More

We could not have been happier with the Old Bakery. The room comes with an ensuite bathroom, separate sitting room, patio, and we even had use of the summer house at the bottom of the garden. Sarah and her husband made us very welcome and provided an excellent breakfast, including home made banana bread. I would definitely recommend The Old... More

I loved it here. Sarah and Fraser were extremely friendly and helpful. They even offered to pick us up from the pub as my husband's feet were aching. Room ispart of a suite: beautiful, modern, newly refurbished plus there is sitting room, bathroom, patio. We felt like we had our own private apartment. Breakfast was amazing and Sarah even gave... A warm welcome from interesting hosts. Bedroom, sitting room and patio areas are well dressed, clean and very comfortable. The village is so pretty and quaint, we kept expecting to meet Miss Marple! Good food available nearby and handy for Arundel and Chichester.
